Our last game saw the Whites grind out a point at Birmingham City. While some people will say it’s disappointing, some were happy to come away with a hard earned point. With Wanderers still battling to gain their first three points in the Championship, we welcome Derby County to BL6 on Saturday. By no means will this be an easy game for the Whites, with Parkinson still having to deal with injuries in the BWFC camp.
Here is how I think we should start on Saturday. I’m going with a 4-4-2 formation as we all know Parkinson’s 3-5-2 doesn’t seem to work in the Championship.
Little Burke Beevers Taylor
Morais Cullen Karacan Buckley
Madine Le Fondre
Howard: I think Howard is hitting good form at the moment, gaining his first clean sheet of the campaign on Tuesday night against Birmingham City. He chipped in with some crucial saves against Millwall last Saturday, too.
Little: With Mark having doing better than Darby so far, it only seems right to give him a chance.
Burke: Without a shadow of a doubt, Burke has been one of the best signings so far in the summer transfer window. He seems to put 100% into everything he does in the game. I can see him in the starting line up for the foreseeable future.
Beevers: In my opinion one of the best centre backs in this division. He’s been solid in every game so far, making some brave blocks during the 1-1 clash with his former club Millwall. Beevers deserves to be in the starting XI week in week out.
Taylor: I think Taylor has been very solid so far this season. Although we have two left back options, Taylor is the man for the starting XI.
Morais: The Postman is marked his return with a fantastic assist against Crewe and a stunning goal against Millwall. Morais could be a key player for us this season.
Cullen: Cullen is another player who had a solid game on Tuesday and on his day he can be quite a handful. We’ll need his tenacity against a strong attacking Derby County.
Karacan: Now Karacan has some great attributes: he’s fantastic on the ball and gets himself into some great positions. He should start for me.
Buckley: During Bolton’s EFL league Cup game with Crewe, Buckley impressed me a lot. He was by far one of the better players on the pitch. He deserves more game time.
Le Fondre: No doubt one of the fans favourites at BL6. Le Fondre only got around fifteen 15 minutes against Birmingham but I think he could be a key man on Saturday to help us pile pressure on Derby County’s defence.
Madine: ‘We’ve got Madine’ Oh boy I love hearing that being shouted by our fans on game day. Gary is one of my favourite players for us at the moment. Although his shooting isn’t the greatest, he makes a fantastic target man which suits our style and he works his socks off.
