Match Preview – BWFC vs Birmingham City

It’s our first midweek league game of the season and the visitors to the UniBol are the blues.

Fresh from yet another teriffic away victory, the whites look to pick up their first home league win of the season. Victory tonight will tie us for the league lead, Birmingham will be desperate for a victory after 2 draws from the first three games. We all remember Boltons lacklustre display against the same opponents to the tail end of last year, and I’m hoping it won’t be more of the same.

Yanic Wildschut has surely forced his way into a starting role after his match winning cameo on Saturday, and noone is starting to look like the class championship player we knew he could be. Ameobi could see a fight on his hands if he wants his place back when he returns. There is also Otzumer knocking on the starters door, but we all know Parky is sensible and will probably stick with the same midfield 3.

The start of the season has been the stuff of dreams, but the pessimist inside me is wondering when the wheels will fall off. PP has installed a great team spirit and togetherness in the squad, but we all know our fans and one loss will have the negative supporters calling for his head yet again. This is a game that, on paper, we should win. Football has a way of slapping you in the face in these type of games though, and anything can happen.

Hopefully we’ll see another display the likes of WBA and Reading saw, and a few goals to boot. I don’t like to predict, but a good display could see us running out 3-1 winners. I’ll be watching on my tablet on ifollow here in sunny Spain, I just hope I’ll be smiling at the end.

Come on you whites! @originalbrown84
