Off we go to the Riverside for our second midweek League game of the season. After a two week break games are coming thick and fast, and the Whites will be wanting to put their disappointing weekend defeat behind them.
After a bright start, Bolton went a goal down and then lost Ameobi for what looks like a six week layoff. After this they never rallied until the last fifteen, but it was too little too late as Magennis’ piledriver came as only consolation.
Away form has been amazing this season and we will see if we can hang on to our unbeaten road record. Otzumer is pushing for a place and Wildschut must be hoping for a start in place of Sammy. It will be interesting to see changes at the mid point of a 3 game in 8 day stretch. One area of severe concern is the left back position. Grounds looks out of his depth at this level and with Taylor struggling for fitness we have a conundrum. I personally would like to see Little switched to left back to fill in. He had a good outing against Leeds, but with Olkowskis blistering start to the season he has found himself on the sideline.
Away support will be scarce tonight, largely due to a trip not many want to make, it’s not a fun ground to visit, especially on a Wednesday evening so the atmosphere will be difficult.
Here’s hoping we have another away trip to write home about.
Come on you whites!
